Storytellers have been using shadow puppets to tell epic tales like the "Mahabharata" and the "Ramayana" for centuries. "Mythika" joins that grand tradition but with an injection of modern flair. "Mythika" updates the look and feel of Balinese shadow puppet theatre by combining it with the visual language of the 21st century. The ornate detailing and lush textures of the puppets are fused with the bold graphic shapes of modern animation resulting in something that’s timeless yet contemporary.
