As Sr. Development Executive and Head of Transmedia at Bungie, Derick Tsai launched the Transmedia program to adapt Destiny into Animation, Film, TV, and other platforms.

He played a pivotal role in shaping the mythology, IP architecture, and transmedia franchise strategy for the Destiny universe, ensuring a cohesive experience that resonated with a younger, more diverse global audience.

Derick also expanded Destiny creatively and emphasized its unique blend of Military Action, Cerebral Sci-Fi, the Cosmic Unknown, Space Magic, and Team-Based Combat to help the franchise stand out in a crowded genre.

 

Through a large-scale brand and data study with Parrot Analytics, Derick identified the most effective mediums for engaging Destiny’s target demographics. He also forged key relationships with talent agencies and studios, positioning Destiny for continued growth across Film, TV, Animation, and beyond.
